THE FACES OF COLOMBIA
THE INVISIBLE COMMUNITIES
San Antonio Neighborhood Girl
Colored Pencil - 14" x 17"
This little girl was playing marbles in the San Antonio neighborhood, the same neighborhood in which the poet Jhonny lives.
The Colombian government built San Antonio to house individuals and families who were displaced from their original communities. However, the neighborhood is far from access to any employment opportunities or basic services like a hospital or a school where children like this little girl can go to learn.
