This painting shows some of the many Afro-Colombian and Indigenous activists and community leaders in Colombia.

 

My goal in creating these paintings is to portray the strength and dignity of Colombian activists and community leaders, as well as their vulnerability as they work for social justice.  

 

Through the power of art, I hope to initiate a dialogue with the viewer that will become a continued voice for human rights, make the invisible, visible and support the grassroots initiatives Colombian activists are working to implement.
